• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I am sure this has been covered before so forgive me bringing it back up. What are the main Pros and Cons to each of these style cookers and which one do you prefer? Looking for some input before I buy my first stick burner

I do not own one yet, but have been researching like you are.

I like that you can hang meat in a vertical cabinet

Vertical = smaller footprint.

Might mean more even temps in a vertical, but not necessarily.

I have been building smokers for almost 30 years. I used to be a hardcore offset horizontal (would own nothing else) kind of guy. About 10 years ago I was commissioned to build a large vertical cabinet with a small footprint for a Memphis restaurant. Since that day, I build very few horizontal cookers. The verticals have a much more even cook temp throughout the cook chamber and provide much more consistent heat.
