• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I have 2 roasts aprox. 2.5-3 lbs each. The family has demanded that I smoke them instead of my usual crock-pot treatment. Having never attempted smoking venison, does anyone out there have any tips they would be willing to share.

Sorry dude, Ive never smoked one. I would think it would dry out too much. I love doing deer meat the crotch pot route. Nice & juicy.
 
Brine it like a turkey. Smoke it 3 hours. Wrap, with 1/2 a can Campbells french onion soup in the foil. Finish.
