• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

OK, I knw there was a thread here somewhere but for the life of me I cannot find it. I searched, advance searched and came up with everything except what I was looking for.

Anyway.....

I just bought and used the Black & Decker brand of VacuSeal bags that I bought from WalMart. I wanted to say they seemed to work just as good as the FoodSaver brand rolls for half theprice. I bought the 8" 22ft roll 2 pack and spent about $9.00 for the box. The same box of FoodSaver bags wer $18.00.

So what experience do you guys hae using other than FS stuff with your FoodSaver system?

I use them and never have had any problems. Just picked up a box of Rival bags 11"x20' $8.99 they look alike.

Only tip I have is to always double seal......ALWAYS!! Losing a gallon of chili in a pot full of water sucks!!!!

I have used many different brands and they all seem to work fine. The only thing I look for in a bag is how thick the material is cause that does make a difference.
If you are sealing more then acouple of bags back to back the seal strip on your sealer can get to hot and melt the thinner bags.
Chicken,Feather bones, and Jerky don't work well in the thinner bags because they poke holes in them.
Just some things that I have incountered.

I like the Black and Decker Brand they work well.
Just my 2 cents

I've only used the Black & Decker bags from WalMart with mine, and have never had a problem. I always double seal just to be safe.
