• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Anyone seen or used one of these? They look like there well built and they do look sharp. Cant find any price information which usually means they cost some cash.www.tuckercooker.com

Looks shiney, but I don't like that lid. Why lose ALL of your heat and smoke everytime you want in the pit. Opens too wide to me.

I agree with todd here.....sure opens the pit wide open, surley lots of heat loss...although ,ain't we supposed to leave that thing closed, anyway:biggrin:

I'm pretty sure these are always listed in the monthly KCBS Bullsheet... Last Price was $2995 if I recall correctly..

I only saw a Tucker at the BBQ on the River contest in Bristol, PA. The team who owned it was cooking next to Sawdustguy and Mrs. Sawdust...
Seemed decent for the $$... but I only looked at it briefly and did not ask questions about performance.

I think they tell you to close the lid when cooking LOL LOL Sorry Brother

... around here, seems like they should call it a 'tarker' .. ??

Hey! ... no booing and rock throwing!

Like Tim said, I like the Tucker. They are well built with good finish. All parts are replaceable and available. The price, I think, gives good value. It is a really flexible cooker - direct, indirect, offset, grilling, and the possibility of doing whole hog.

I was really leaning towards a Tucker when I bought the Kingfisher...the Kingfisher have me a little more capacity with the rotisserie.

It is probably like any other cooker out there, you just have to get over all the learning curves. I had never seen it before this post, but the price looks right.

Right now I am all about the insulation though. I remember having to fight temperatures with a quality texas built stick burner. That is no fun when you want to sleep.

When buying a smoker, you just need to list all the pros and cons of the smokers you are interested in and make your decision based on your list.

We all have our favorites and we all will swear by them.

There are actually several categories of smokers, once you determine what category you want the decision is usually narrowed down to 2 or 3 smokers.

Example: Pellet feed, therefore Traeger and FEC

That said, there are many stick burners out there that are similar, but they can be narrowed down by location and shipping costs.

Think I'll stick with my pellet smoker, I just thought the design of the Tucker was diffrent and thought I would ask. Thanks all!!
