im gonna try to smoke a couple of butts tomorrow on the UDS and was wondering what type of wood to use. i know each has its own flavor. Just wanted to know which one do yall use and suggest. this will only be my second time using the UDS, I did a couple of whole chickens last week using hickory chunks. Thanks for any input.
 
Butts are hard to screw up. I like mesquite, but that's just me. almost any wood that has flavor will give you a good smoke, it all boils down to what is available. Use what you got! :clap2:

Low and slow, it's not done till it's done.
 
Use what you have available on this cook. Next time try something different. Not everyones taste buds are the same. Keep trying different woods till ya like the one ya like the best.
