• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

We are currently shopping for a barbecue concession trailer. I am not sure what link is best when set up at a competition. I would like to go 24 foot long. Would that be too much trailer for the lots allowed at competitions L?

Most of the contest around here have 20x20 spots but all of them have bigger spots available. Fees vary from contest to contest, some cheap for extra space or some not so much.
We did a handful of contest this year that kinda just gave you the space you needed and parked teams as they came in.

Thanks

So it sounds like I could get by with a longer trailer if I am willing to pay a little bit more for my spot. The reason I may want a longer trailer I am Debating whether I want to add a small bathroom and place to sleep not sure what most guys do.

Around here a 20x20 is also the most common size, with 20x40 an extra cost upgrade. One of two comps offer a 20x30 but that seems rare.

Having sleeping quarters and a head is nice, but if you also want to use the trailer for vending you may want to look at the health department regulations to make sure that is allowed.

The organizer should be able to find you a spot at virtually any contest. I would go for it, it sure is nice to have a bed and toilet.

You have much more flexibility if a trailer is used only for competition. If you plan to use it to vend or cater, you should get guidance from your health department on all their non-intuitive rules.

Typically a comp trailer runs 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a licensed food service unit. Before you start shopping I would suggest you decide which way you want to go as that will shape all other choices.
