• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hard to believe it has already been a year since the BBQ dinner I donated for a school fundraiser sold at auction for $2600. I'll be anxious to see if we can get close to that amount tonight. The dinner is for 20 people and I cook it at their loacation. They get brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken along with sides of cole slaw, baked beans and rolls. My job at the auction is to get everyone liquored up so they loosen up their wallets. Last year we raised over $100K for the school athletic and arts department. The guy who bought the dinner last year has hired me to cater his son's graduation party this summer so I am going to try my hand at BBQ catering and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Do you have anyone taking pics? Ought to turn out great! What a great idea!

that's a GREAT idea! our school's auction was tonight, actually. next year, i'll have to remember that as something to donate.

Sign of the times. Last year there were over 330 people who paid the $100 per plate dinner auction and this year it was down to just over 260! Everything was going for less and there was a lot less drinking going on. Coincicence? I don't think so. My chiropractor bought the dinner I donated for $800. The dinner donated by one of the pastors of the two parishes that support the school went for $1000 while last year it sold for $3500!! Didn't stick around for the final tally, just too damn tired. Like I said, a lot less drinking made for a long evening working behind the bar. It was still a good time for a good cause and as long as the school can make a tidy profit from a meal I prepare, I'll keep donating.

Sorry to hear it didn't go as high as the last time. But it's for a good cause.
Wonder how high it would have gone for a bad cause?
