Enjoyed reading and looking at what all peeps have done. Guess I kinda cheated - it's more a weber on steriods, or kinda a poor man's WSM? Still need to build up a fire basket and a thermo, but it did make some tasty kielbasa with just the chimney and a gauge thru the vent.

I did learn .035 on the Lincoln 216 for gauge metal is not for the faint of heart. To quote my sister "well, it is ugly". (I was slightly offended as I think it's kinda sexy). No build pics, it is what it is and there's nothing really different from what's been done. I put eye-bolts on the outside for the top grate so's I can use bungee's for transport.

cheers!

Thats something I have had in my mind for some time and never got the ROUND 2IT going... is that a 1-touch bottom?

yep. pic is from the wrong side i guess. the lever is on the other side - can operate with foot. the red ash/drip pan slides out too.

I seem to think up a new mod everytime I use it!

that's what i'm afraid of...it's taking time away from the 1st project (did i just hi-jack my own thread?)

I'd like to get some more info on your oil tank conversion as I am planning on doing one too and yours looks well designed. Got any close-up's?

That is a much better looking than my UDS...in fact it is kinda sexy. LOL. You think you're addicted to this site? To quote Divemaster...there is no 12 step program for us. Of course, that's because no one ever wants to quit making Q!

here's my fire basket. it doing a balancing act on the 2nd grill support and the u-hanger thing. on the fence if the u takes away from the sexy but besides not having to bend over it gives me something to shoot for when hanging the lid off the back...after...too many...b.soda's? yeah it's rebar and i wanted the top to be wrapped with steel like i seen on some cooler baskets but i'm hungry.

stoking up a larger than required basket for the cause just because i can (and i wanna see what kind of long burn i can get). i also like not bending over

letting it get crazy on some red bell, jalapenos, and garlic chunk in olive oil (say maybe 20 minutes under the lid)

there's missing steps here. after high heat roasting, snuffing, pulling, throwing on a honed/unfilled travertine, going wicked crazy preheat, building, it's back on. cheated on the crust (pre-made thin) and pesto, provolone, fontina, oregano, and last year's dried basil crop.

i saw somewhere it's not official 'til there's a pic so here ya go. i am amazed at the control on the temp. i throttled it back and will check it a few times before hitting the sack. i hope to see some good stuff in the a.m. (as far as temp)

shout out to all the cool peoples here

Great looking drum. I like the looks of your first project too! Nice. :thumb:

thx :) i have build pics of that one i'll post a link when i get some time away from fabbin'n'grillin'...and yes, i already have thrown down with the "kt-q" (this pic is a paltry 35# Easter trial of the 140 she'll do - what's 14 hours of my life for good vittles with family and friends)
