• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

This is Crazy

Kickstarter. Enough said. I've backed a few projects that flopped so don't get your hopes up.

Eventually someone will more capital will come out with something like this.

Could see it going over good in dorm rooms and hotel rooms. Modern technology lol

I don't see anything revolutionary here. It's a toaster oven that steams.

Lol couldn't agree more and possibly a microwave? I am sure none of us have either in our homes.

I am not going to start a debate with you, that's a pretty ridiculous statement tho.

If you look at the real world capabilities of the average person today compared to 100 years ago, we've lost so many skills and replaced them with dependence on technology......I don't think it's a ridiculous statement at all.

I'm out, but wrap your head around this.

This thing will make it to the market, may be not this exact one, but something similar will. Add in the "smart" refrigerator that tracks what you take out and creates a grocery list for you. Take that a step farther and have the refrigerator reorder for you and BOOM! No more grocery shopping and no more cooking. Think it won't sell? Think again...

It's interesting, but the 'Keurig for food' reference immediately makes me not want it and to not even read the article.

IMO, keurig is office lobby garbage that produces a product that is worse than my local gas station. Thinking of the food equivalent products makes me gag a little.

I'm sure it'll be a big hit (or as someone above said, maybe not this one but something like it) and it does fill an empty niche. For me, I wish the movement to go back to spending more quality time with family in the kitchen/dining room together would catch on more than 'easy food'.

A little too George Jetson for me.....:mrgreen:

It will sell just not tome for a while I also dont like the smart fridge idea

No thanks.. I'm sure there are people out there who put a far higher value on convenience than I do, but this is not not something I would ever want. I enjoy cooking. Even beyond bbq, I genuinely just enjoy being in the kitchen. Then again... I would rather build my own furniture than buy it, so I guess I'm not much on convenience in general..

And Krex, I agree with you. We are slowly giving more of our lives away to technology. Its kind of sad, really. More and more people can't do basic things like unclog a sink, cook a meal, change a flat, wire a switch. I hate seeing this stuff, but I'm sure it will sell like crazy..

Kind of made me think of this...

Refuse to get into the "internet of things". Can't wait for the first folks getting ransom demand emails. "Send us cash or we will not unlock your door and we will turn off your fridge."

We have also gained a lot as well. There are somethings I can agree with on losing certain skills. But if you go back 100 years to date look at what was created. I could go into many things in medicine, machine, production, the Internet, all which make quality of life better overall. This gadget is not for me I would rather cook and enjoy time with my family.

On getting locked out of your house, this actually happen to me at my company on a different scale, they hacked are files locked them and we had to pay the ransom with bit coins to get the code to unlock them. The authorities FBI included response pay the ransom if you want the files. Pretty crazy deal.

Seems to me like all new tech and modern convenience, while nice and quick and easy (for the most part), seem to make us lose touch with the outdoors and craft in general. I'm digging all the new craft movements. This looks like it would have been nice when I lived in a dorm at Texas Tech or when I'm at a Ranger game in Arlington, turn it on, go to the game, come back to the room and nom
