Anyone have a supplier or a resource to buy Thermapen's. Went to a class Saturday and saw one of these bad boys in action, gotta have one, If I have to bite the bullet and buy one off of thermoworks site I will, just thought I would ask before spending the money.

Just go on the web to their website and you can buy them direct from the manufacturer. I think they are $85 or so.

I bought mine off amazon but I checked around quite a bit and couldn't ever find anything significantly cheaper (maybe a buck or two). Works awesome! it's so quick that sometimes I wonder if it's accurate but in checking, I found that it is!

I have a Nu Temp one.

Much better.

It has the probe, but it also has infra red.

You'd be surprised how close surface temp it to internal, (on like a 7 hr butt or 12 hr briskett) with the infra red.

Plus you get to play with it.

MY dog's anus is 89 degrees

Their is a thermapen on ebay for $53 but it is in the UK. I wonder how much shipping is from there to the US

Thanks, I'm biting the bullet, I HAVE TO GET ONE...damn this hobby is getting expensive, bosslady is going to ground me and take my debit card before its all said and done, but I'll have my thermapen, after 15 years its easier to ask for forgivness then permission.:lol:

My wife bought a Thermapen for me at Christmas. She was skeptical, but she bought it since I wanted it. We're probably going to buy another one since she likes using it so much in the kitchen!

Check into the one in Europe carefully. I think the part number is different than a US unit (degrees F vs. degrees C) and I don't know if it is switchable.

I bought from the mfg web site since I couldn't find a better price. I tried to get a group buy going here but at the time no one was interested.

I read a story a while back on a different forum. A lady had a brand new thermopen. She was so happy w/it while checking a ham in her oven for the holidays. She took the temp of the meat and closed the oven door back shut. Guess what she forgot to remove?????? Spensive mistake.

I use mine for checking temps of chicken thighs when were doing fundraiser monthly chicken dinners here in my neighborhood. I also check the calabration of it against other thermometers just to make sure they all agree. Awesome device in my opinion.

You'd better get your NuTemp calibrated, Bill... normal dog body temp is 101 to 102 degrees.
