• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I received a thermapen(blue cause they are the most accurate) for my birthday. I was very excited about it as i have been wanting one for some time but couldnt justify the high cost. I do really love it but you would think at $85 the screen would light up. I have a digital tire pressure gauge i bought at sears for $12 and it lights up!

Light or no light, the thermopen is one of my most valued cooking utensils!

What is the voltage of the battery in these things? Wouldn't be hard to add an LED inside the case. Need 4.5 volts for the LED. Modding a thermapen! Oh Yeah!

Great idea! Let me know how you make out:rolleyes:

First, congrats on your new pen. Be sure to add or subtract up to 13 degree's in either direction for accuracy inconsistency. :) Second....A head light will do the job. I use them all the time fishing and now when smoking through the night. Although one of the little lights as above taped to the unit may cast enough light to use. And I agree with MS it would be a cheap and awesome addition. Scott

I didn’t know the different color cases had anything to do with accuracy.
I have the black one. I went with black only because it’s my favorite color.
And it matches my soul.

Congratulations, and Happy Birthday Sledneck ..... and fark you too!

I got one for my brithday too in April, and have been ecstatic about it until you so eloquently pointed out that it doesn't light up! Now what am I going to do?

I'm sure that I'll forget about it though when I get my Weber One Touch Gold for Fathers Day though. (I put my request in today.)
