• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

The wait begins...

Congrats on the purchase. So what kind of lead time is LSG having these days???

Confirmation email said 6-18 weeks. Hoping it is on the lower end of that.

Congrats! Hopefully they meant 6-8 as the 6-18 isn’t a very good estimate of current workload.

I'll see what I can do getting some pictures and a full review once I get it. Honestly, I went back and forth between Lone Star Grillz and a Shirley 24x36. The Shirley's look to be a work of art, but I live close enough to LSG that it would just be a matter or renting or borrowing a trailer to go pick it up versus having to pay the extra cost to ship a Shirley. Figured I'd realistically never need the slightly extra capacity of the Shirley and the extra features like the firebox grate and griddle on the LSG will be nice to have.

Congratulations. What awesome cookers to pick from and decision to make.

As my Dad told me growing up, if everyone did everything alike, no one would ever leave home.

On another note, what is everyone's favorite nekkid fatty recipe? Never made one before, but want to christen things properly according to brethren tradition.

Gotcha. I assume naked just meant no bacon wrap.

Congratulations! Welcome to offset barbecuing! There's nothing like it!

Nekkid Fatty
Have smoker going with thin blue 🔵
Remove sausage from wrap
Place Fatty's where they'll cook at about 275°.
When Fatty's are cooked to your liking remove
Add 2-3 cans of cheap biscuits and do the biscuit test.
Now take those biscuits (I prefer the burnt bottom one's)
Slather in 🧈 butter
Insert slice of Fatty
Add nothing, Honey or Grape Jelly
Eat and smile

So what happened?
You started a fire in your new cooker and got it to thin blue 🔵
You cooked the traditional first Fatty's
You performed a biscuit test to recognize hot spots and use to your advantage.
You ate well
Enjoy your Christening
Amen

Congrats!! Sounds about right. From order to delivery my LSG vertical took 16 weeks and that was over 10 years ago.

Aggie12 have you gotten any updates?

Last thing I got was the confirmation/thanks email from Chris, which is probably a robot email.
I'm itching to get cooking on the thing!
