• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

To make a long story short last weekend I was cooking a pastrami but ended up having the flu and cancelled the party. It finished in the oven and my wife cooled it and froze it whole. The pastrami has now been thawing in the fridge for rescheduled party tomorrow how would you reheat it? I was thinking of steaming it for a couple hours in the oven, what would you do?

Check thirdeyes blog- he has a great tutorial on pastrami. Dont remember if he has anything on reheating it. If not I would steam it- keep the meat on a rack off of the water. Let us know how things turn out

I got my son a whole pastrami from kats deli in New York. I came in a vacuum sealed bag. The instructions said put it in boiling water for up to 3 hours. My son brought water up to a boil and then a simmer and left it in there for about two two and a half hours and it came out nice and warm and juicy.

Never knew this to be an option. Now I'm looking through their site! So many choices!!

At Kats they boil the meat before slicing and serving it. But when you buy a whole Kat's pastrami for delivery, YOU do the boiling last cooking stage. That is not the same as reheating it. What this thread has inspired me to do....is to make Pastrami again! THANK YOU! Every spring I buy the reduced price corned beef after St. Patrick's Day to freeze until ready to make Pastrami. Freezer dive coming up.

when making pastrami I like to smoke the corn beef on my Egg. When it hits about 165 I put it in an aluminum pan with the meat raised on foil balls, add a can of beer, cover with foil and steam it till done. Always good
