• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Team Sponsorship on Ebay

It doesn't look as if he has been too successful as there are no takers with a day and a half left.

What kind of smoker is that? Looks like a Traeger emblem on it and his Ebay name is "nepellethead."

One of these Nebraska guys must know these guys.

Name sounds familiar, but have never met them in person. Also have never heard of their catering company.

Also have never heard of Omaha BBQ. Having been born and raised and still working in Omaha, you would have thought I would have heard of Omaha Style BBQ. Hope it works for them.

I like the Idea. Not sure if he will get anything. But i like the idea.

I guess there is no loss if no one signs ups.

What ever works.

Heck all I want is one sponsor. Heres the rules, I want (lets say) $10k to start. I Wont do cookin' classes, I wont meet in person and there is no news letter, sounds like the deal of a Lifetime, huh? Just kiddin' Guys, man I hope that works for him and his team!!

He must have some beggin balls, I have never heard of trying that! If he gets one he's a winner. but don't you think he should look around omaha?
Just my thoughts. I have a few sponsor's but I would never go about it that way.

would you??

I guess you gotta get the word out somehow. You never know what kind of business or Web Site may want some exposure.

If I'm dropping $500, I'd want to see those ribbons/trophys up close :) If these guys do 20 contests a year, you would think Riverfest (Red, White, & Que) would be one of them.... I don't remember hearing that name in the last couple years ... of course I don't remember hearing ours either, but we have the clear plexi state of Neb. so I know we got called - damn alcohol induced deafness....

Yes Andy you got called and so did I and I have never seen this team, but that does not mean they have not been around. I did most of the contests in Nebraska in 06 I did not notice them. We will have to look for them this year. Hey if this advertising works we might have to all try it.

Are you going to Red White and Que again?? We are.

We do plan on going again this year. We have enjoyed it the few times we have done it so far.

My point about pimping our calls was this - This guy is touting his winning as part of the value of the sponsorship. He should probably be a little more specific about his winnings if he stating it is a value to the sponsor. 20 contests a season is alot of contests. I had never heard of these guys in 4 years, and do most of my cooking where I would suspect they do.... KS, MO, IA, NE. My only thought was, if I were to try something like this on eBay, I would want to be more specific about actual winnings... so as not to paint a picture that could be misinterpreted. And maybe include a list of the places I go, so people could see where thier name will be on display ( regionally, nationally, etc.) Just playing the skeptical buyer/devil's advocate. Was not trying to imply they have not been around the last 4 years as they say.... just wondering if they didn't oversell a little
