• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I decide to try the famous Chuck Roast smoke. Went across the street to Farkway and had 'em cut me a 6 lb chuck. $2.49 lb NOT on sale.

I've only done a few but they are dang good. I used some leftovers to make tamales. I had some earlier this week and they were great.
 
Smoked chusck pot roast somehow missed our table this winter.

Chuckie is one of the things I have not tried yet butt it is now on my priority list of meats to cook. That stuff looks full of flavor.

So basically it"s just a 6lb chuck roast that you smoked right? What temp did you take it off at?
 
Treat it like it is brisket. The taste is so good, and it can be served in so many ways.

The last one i did last week I think I cooked to 160 for med rare
 
I knew I wanted to pull vs slice so I pulled it in the high 190's and put it in the cooler for a couple hours. It still could have gone a pinch longer for the rest of the fat to render.

I have 4 pound chuckie in the freezer. When I get back from vacation me and mr. chuckie have an appointment with Boss Hawg my CG Smokin Pro! :mrgreen:
