• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Okay this was a lazy dish, I made it from what we had cause I didn't want to go to the store. Don't laugh at the ingredients, cause this stuff rocked!!
2 Envelopes of brown gravy mix
1 can of Coke
2 cups of Milk
2 TBS Worcestershire sauce
2 TBS Butter
Little Garlic and onion powder and salt and pepper to taste.
1/2 big bag of frozen meatballs
Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil and let simmer 1 hours.
Serve over rice. These had just a little sweetness from the coke and were fairly rich from the milk and butter. Very very good improvised meal if I may say so myself.

Meat balls

Looks great Larry, throw a parsley ontop for me..........THanks

Looks great Larry!:-D

That would be good on top of wide egg noodles too.

Kinda like beef stroghanoff. (sp?)

Yessir, Im thinking egg noodles as well. With the gravy and the meatballs...............heaven IMHO.

Wonder if you smoked a chuckie and did the same recipe if it would also taste awesome?

Need to get to the store asap.

the meat balls look real good. I agree with the noodles and I bet that sauce would be good on chuckie too.

Thanks guys! I agree, buttered egg noodles would have been killer! But that would have made me go fight the maniacs at the store, plus I'd been drinking.......................alot.

made these last night, with the egg noodles. Darn kids didnt leave me any for lunch.

Larry, those look mighty fine! I'm with you on fighting the maniacs at the store only I need a few adult beverages BEFORE I go. LOL. Good improv on the meal.

Looks great and I agree that its fun making dinner from what you got but I have to ask - what made you go for Coke??? I would never think to use that in a sauce....

I use coke or leftover coffee often as a base for beef. Something I learned from my mom years ago, at least the coffee part. Believe it or not the coke or coffee "flavor" really disappear once the beef reduces.

As far as using it on this particular recipe..................it was a surprise to me at how good it came out, I gotta little lucky......

Coffee

Yeah Larry I'll use coffee as a base for my chili, I'll reduce it though so some of the taste comes thru.....try making some red eye gravy with it, goes great with biscuits and fried egg....:!:
