• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I got a call from a good friend who owns cattle in N. OK on Friday who wanted to drop off a bunch of apple tree limbs. Didn't think it would be much until I chopped it up yesterday. I've got enough to last the next several months!! 2 weeks ago another friend dropped off a ton of hickory. Haven't had to pay for wood yet. I feel very lucky.

It's good to have friends with trucks and land!!!

Actually, he said he was going to bring over some roasts for me to smoke, trying to talk him into a brisket. Never done roast?

I need to find where I can get some interesting smoking wood here in the DFW area. If anyone knows a source, please let me know.

thx,
kellyman

Siding off the neighbors house?

Heath! that's not nice.

Call around to the local tree guys and let them know what you are looking for. That is one of the best ways to find wood. Buy them a case of beer if you have to. Might get some free wood cause they need a place to dump the stuff.

Before I got the place in the mountains I would drive around town and listen for chain saws, then strike up a conversation with the people and drive away with a truck load of wood.
