• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

We had a little impromptu Superbowl party... and we hardly watched the game.. sat around talking, cooking and eating..

Menu was last minute too..
I made Pizza, Sausage, Buffalo wings & prime rib... BigBarry brought chile, bird thighs, and some kick ass imported beer.. (what the hell was that stuff?).... vinny covered the appetizer and a fruit platter which was a welcomed addition to offset all the meat.

I promise everyone,, i DO have chairs in my house, but for some reason,we stood around in the kitchen eating.. which was good, becase I didnt have to clean chicken bones up from the basement/gameroom  . We never even made it to the pool table to shoot a few games which is REALLY unusual. Once people get to the basement, the table usually draws the crowd. We were more interested at sitting at the bar.. :)

It was Me, Sledneck, Militantsquatter, Bigbarry(and his other half), BroadwayBruce,(brucesieg), Worldtraveling George, Bruce the Roofer (as u can see in the pictures, had a little too much wine), and Zorba the Greek.. Im not sure about everyoenelse, but i missed the game.. we were hanging out and yapping most of the time.. WillyB never made it case he got to hammered during pregame and couldnt find the door. Matt(backyardchef just wussed on us  ). I think he had some flower arranging to do or something. :eusa_clap

great time guys.. hanging out with friends is definatly one of my favorite hobbies!! Thanks for makin:cool: g the journey.

Great to hear that you guys had a good time.

There was an inpromptu Brethren gathering at WillieBs too, but I may be the only one there that is able to remember!

chit.. he should have sent u here earlier with his beer.. then he could have followed the trail of breadcrumbs.

Nice pics and nice bar! CHIT!!!

Sledneck, you are looking good, bro! I can tell you'd dropped a little weight from the pics. Keep up the good work on your journey to better health.

I was thinking the same thing, Sled, and I just saw you a week ago.

Wish I could have made it. Much better than a bunch of sick kids.

Terrific party, Pooh! Really had a good time and the chow was terrific.

Mrs. BigBarry also had a great time.

Beer was from Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown. Belgian-style ales. Great with food. http://ommegang.com/

Thanks again for inviting me!

BigBarry imported that beer from the mainland part of the state, all the way from, Cooperstown! :-P

Phil, you know that we are only on an island, not a whole damn continent or country, don't you?

Thanks for the heads up!

I get no answer at the store. Did he close today?

I would understand if he did!! :icon_smil :icon_sleepy

Phil,

Love the pic of your kid eating the prime rib with his hand. In the other pic it looks like he might have gotten into the Fat bastard Chardonnay. Either that or he is slipping into a meat coma...

that was pretty funny... this was a 18.8# 7 bone roast.. he walked in and just grabbed a hunk of prime rib by the bone, slapped it in a dish and walked away.. i noticed he didnt stop for a knife and fork..so i walked into the den to see if he needed one and he is sitting there, got a grip on the bone and tearing away like a caveman..:eusa_clap :eusa_clap first thing that came to mind...

thats my boy..... wheres the camera !! Snapped the shot and said "ya want a fork?".. his response..

"For what ?".

oh.. sorry jorge.. i'll have a gyro on your behalf tonight.

yes i closed for the day to have the store cleaned from top to bottem.

Looks like a great time! You didn't miss anything with the game :(

Vinny... Fruit plate?

Not that there's anything wrong with that... :-D

The fruit plate was for Sled :icon_blush: ... He's a hard core dieter now...(seriously, he's doing a great job... You can tell he's serious about it & he was really careful about what he ate. I think he's down 15 lbs since a few days after Christmas)...

Lucklily Bruce the Roofer, who I believe works part time as a doctor, gave the group a tutorial on the complex carbohydrate rankings of all the fruits in the platter (honeydew, melon, pineapple = bad, kiwi, mango - average, blueberry, strawberry=better)
