It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Doing a search on this site and google as well there is not a lot of information on this cabinet smoker. If anyone owns one or has experience cooking on one I would be interest in your experience with this cooker. One concern I have is the single door for both the cook chamber and firebox and temp spikes when accessing the cook chamber.

Looking at small insulated cabinet smokers that I can actually pickup to avoid shipping costs and stay around my budget goal of $1500. I've talked to Smokinit (Kevin) about the Humphreys but with shipping costs I'd rather find an alternative.

I'm also considering the Assassin Grill and I have a wedding to go to in Virginia in September and there is a 270 dealer in the area. I may just hold off until then and pickup a 270 Sumo during the trip.

Ill have in my possession the new Mack Daddy Toolbox in a couple weeks. As soon as I take delivery ill post up pics. But basic idea of it is around 26" wide, 16-18" deep and 24" tall. Will come on a rolling cart. Will unbolt from rolling cart for tailgaiting/camping etc.

2 chambers and in the cook chamber it will have 2 racks roughly 13x23 (large enough for a hotel pan on each). Will be reverse flow and insulated. Will come in two options, mild steel and aluminum skinned with stainless shelves. Combinations of each and other options will be available but these are the first two.

I am excited for these ones to show up. PM me and we can discuss more details if you want.

As a 270 Sumo owner I believe you cannot go wrong especially at this price point. Cooks a good amount of food and does all things BBQ related well. Humphrey's was my first choice also bit I didn't want to pay the shipping costs. The cold doesn't bother the 270 at all and it keeps rock solid temps. At 199lbs the 270 is lighter too.

Kevin,

I just sold my mini stumpster. It is a great little cooking machine. My only issue was I needed more room for my second comp cooker. It does not spike temps when opening door and recovers very quickly. I have done 12 hour cooks with only adding a small amount of charcoal midway through. Nice unit for tailgating and camping as well.

lots of Backwoods Smoker dealers out there.

Mason Dixon BBQ Services which is the 270 dealer also carries Backwoods so I was planning on checking them out when I go up to Virginia. The closest Backwoods dealer to me is in Birmingham which is about a 4.5 hour drive, if i don't want to wait until September that's another option, thanks.
