• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

.... was following good Brethren comments here and went to Lowes to order a Weber Gold kettle. This Brinkmann was last one assembled and on display. I had passed on it months ago due to their 'no discount' price. One thing led to another and the store manager got generous .... so close to Weber Gold that I couldn't pass. The key for me, is that after many false starts, I settled on a very nice complement for the BGE and vice-versa.

Thanks for lots of 'patient' help here on BBQ-Bro Forum to get me to focus on 'real' issues I was trying to resolve.

Looks great. I'l bet it cost a lot for your landscaper to haul in those big rocks in your yard. Mine is just grass.

I like those grills, and it looks pretty similar to the one Neil bought not too long ago. Nice score!

I hope the lid has a better support system than a two by four.
Congrats!!! Patience is a virtue.

Nice toys.....but, what the heck is wrong with you...everything is so neat and clean....just not natural!!!!

Looks like you are all set now. Uhh..did you save the reciept? You know..just in case.

....hey! ... you're way too perceptive ! ..... I have been lusting for weeks about a New Braunfels Longhorn Deluxe from Academy Sports. Found one with a decent discount (few rust spots, etc.) ... BUT .... they do not ship these type items. DHL Global Forwarding quotes $400. but that could go higher with lots of funny small print (That's almost as much as the pit). They are one of the few who will even get serious about such a 'one-off' bulky, heavy 'strapped on a pallet', private-pwner shipment. One outfit quoted $1,800. !!

Most likely I'll be EGGing and Grilling for awhile ....
BTW ... I saw a package of (3) smoked ham hocks at WallyWorld and immediately pictured your Northern Bean cook. Hope to do that one next week.

Make sure you do a second smoke on those hocks first. They will give you great flavor.

Tommy, is your place on the side of a mountain? Looks like a great patio.

Oh yeah - St Geaorge UT. We've been there. Beautiful country.

I like how you've mounted your Egg.

You will like cooking on the Brinkman Tommy, it's a great grill and it can be used to smoke on too if needed. That is the model Sam's had last year. The one I bought is a little larger and has two separate charcoal grates and grill grates, extra crank mod. I saw one of those the other day at the Rural King store for $199 which is what I payed at Sam's.

Brauma ... yup ... backed up to steep red cliffs typical of this area. That monster boulder is like a clamshell against the deck. If/when it collapses, I'll have lots of firewood!

Neil ... I think your 2-door mod is really a good step forward for this cooker. Tried, but could not find one anywhere in my general area.

Vita_Q ... Thanks ... but getting stuff on it and supporting what's there, is one reason why a Spicewine, Klose, or Lang is not in the cards right now. Size is also a limiting factor, but we do enjoy the good points.

Regards,

.......... or tomorrow for sure ! I really want to go for it today, but we'll be eating that f..q'n paella for a week !
