• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

My family is having a cookout and this time they want something different in burgers. When we do burgers we just pick up what's at the store but this time I want to try something different.

I've been looking at the on-line steak places and wondered if anybody's ordered from them before and which one is the best?

I've looked at Omaha Steaks, Allien Brothers, Kansas City, Heart Land and Anders Family. I've never tryed any of these steakburgers so I don't know anything about them.

Anybody ever used any of their burgers? It's been a few years since I used them but I've heard that Omaha is not as good as it used to be. Any truth to this?

I saw some Warryu burgers at Allen Brothers but I'm not sure I want to go that far. I want a great American burger on the grill.

Thanks!!

I get Omaha every year as a gift from my Uncle. The steaks are OK but the burgers are bad.

Buy ground chuck and sirloin and mix them with some rub or garlic and onion powder. Make them big but flat and you all set.

Or, go to a good butcher who ages beef and have him grind it into chop meat.

Just my 2c.

what bigbarry said is what I'd do...any good meat market should help you pick out some meat appropriate for you needs and grind it for ya.

I picked up some chuck yesterday for $2.39 and ground it for burgers using the attachment on my Kitchenaid mixer. The nice thing with grinding your own is that you don't have to worry as much about doneness, since you know what's in your hamburger.

if you have a grinder, grind 4lbs of chuck roast with 1lb of bacon and mix together. someone else suggested that on here and it makes the best burgers i've ever had!
