• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I'm setting up my 007 drum with a rotisserie. I have all the parts except a ring. I'd like to use a ring rather than cut the drum. Personal choice, is all.

Anyway retailers either sell the motors and rods, or the ring + the motor and rod. No one seems to sell just a ring, much less a stainless ring. Cajun Bandit won't sell parts.

I'm surprised there's not a bigger after-market for these things.

If anyone has any groovy ideas, I'm all ears

Go to a local sheet metal fabricator. I'm sure they could bend a few inches wide piece of stainless sheet into a ring of the diameter you need fairly cheaply.

Eventually I'm gonna carry the CB ring a la carte...it won't fit the drum anyways unfortunately. (Most drums anyway)

I wouldn't worry about SS for the ring but if you can get some flat sheet rolled then use L-brackets that will catch the edge of the drum, cut the notch, drill the hole and you'll be in business

No need for a flush fit....definitely just bolt on brackets...3 will work good

BTW my stainless steel CB rings are heat and smoke stained ...they didn't stay pretty for long

That should work, you can't use the lower grate & roti at the same time anyway.

I figure I'll rest the ring on the 3 U-Bolts I have up there (used for the grill)

This is the type of brackets on mine for my WSM:

Since you have your adj. swing grate. Just mount the brkts to the side of the drum so they are outside of the drum edge. Your lid will still fit etc. Works for mine.

If you really want a ring, you can make one out of a section of another drum. Most drums, even yours, have that ridge/rib around the outside of the drum. Some have 1-3 of those ridges. Kinda hard to explain, but if you cut the drum all the way around, about 3 inches under that ridge, the ring will slip into your drum and will stop at the ridge. I've done this a few times for some friends that wanted a ring for their Kettles. You can make the ring as "high" or "low" as you want. Granted, you may need to work the edge a bit with some plies, or even a soft hammer and work the lip so it will slide into your drum, but it can be easily done without spending a ton of money or what is already out there.

mine fits perfectly, probably better than the kettle. And ya it wont be all clean and shiny for long

I've talked with them about it and it won't fit most...won't fit any of mine. Tom yours is just a tad smaller than the standard one, Nice fit though!

I wish CB would sell the ring as a part-only...
Chances are it wouldn't, the drum has to be just under 22 3/4" OD which most aren't.

If it is, I can maybe get one for you worst case

Well, our Brethren mattmountz94 got me out of this jam and I have a stainless roti ring coming in the mail. Like- yesterday I was complaining, and today my solution is in the mail. Merry Farkin' Christmas to me. Thanks again Matt! I won't forget the accommodation.
