Squash Casserole

I can’t find the thread where a request was made for cheese squash casserole. This is pretty much it, with a few variances. Bride prefers fresh cornbread instead of crackers, Tillamook Cheddar she shreds from a block. Adds chopped green chile. If I’d had smoked garlic she would’ve added that as well. It comes out almost like a Holiday Dressing minus Holiday seasoning

I'm all ears when it comes to squash casserole. I have a recipe from my Granny who made it for many years. Maybe I will make it sometime soon. It includes bell peppers, onion, and tomatoes too. She could never make enough.

BTW- sweet cornbread vs savory can have a big impact on final. I prefer savory she went sweet. Her gig, I remained silent. Either way, It’s good
