• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

here's some pics of a bunch of butts.

for a luau, my work buddy wanted to cook up port butts in lieu
of ground pork (pig in the ground).

his pit holds only a couple butts at a time, so he asked how many
the bandera would do.

here's the pics.

4 butts (~32 lbs) in the smoke king

12 butts (~100 lbs) in the bandera

pic of multitasker ( using wireless laptop to monitor weather
radar, fix a problem at test floor at work, download microsoft
virus-hole patch to a usb drive - and monitor the q)

How even were the temps. in the Bandera wtih that much meat? Did you rotate? Looks great bro. Esp. the 2 pounder. Got to work on the beer choice though.

Hey - that was the rotguttiest beer I could find.

The temps varied with that much meat. We had to rotate every few hours (up and down, front and back, side to side) to keep even heating. After about 5 or 6 hours we foiled the butts.

It took a lot of fuel.

One thing with that many butts is that an awful lot of grease drips off. Luckily we were foiled when all that grease caught fire. Man that was hilarious. It looked like Mt. St. Helens coming out of the flue!

I need a grease mod.....I'm thinking wireless remote control on the valve. :-)
 
Did a butt Saturday night Sunday. Dried the damn thing out. Man I was pissed that was dinner and lunch for today.

Try using a real fuel, not gas, next time :!: :D
