• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Southern Pride on Ebay

Todd, I don't know how ebay savvy you are, but if you are going for it, don't make a bid until less than a minute before the closing time. No gain in bidding it up.

The seller has a good track record, so that is good, plus it is a pay when you pick it up deal, so even better.

"I NEVER DID GET A TITLE FOR IT"

I would investigate the above statement in doing your do diligence.

With homemade trailers, you have to apply for a license and a title. I assume that's what he means. I've never heard of a title for a cooker.

Yep! I remember getting mine registered and had to tell the DMV I made it:shock: . Probably different state to state.

Good luck, Todd!

Southern Pride says that the pit was made in 1983. They still manufacture parts for it. They haven't made that model in forever.

Think I'll have to pass.

What about and fec 500?

We have cooked 50 butts on it at once. Catering ribs off it tonight for 200. Cooking the beans and potatoes on it too.

The only thing about the Southern Pride is you have to buy the majority of the parts directly from them. (according to a couple of people I know that have them) I opted for the Ole' Hickory because they are basically the same grill but, most of the parts are available at your local heating and air supplier.

That Southern Pride is back up on the auction block. Only $1500 right now.

I know where you can buy an FEC500..... I just watched it roll off the trailer last night.... man is that a purty cooker.

Hey HoDeDo, do tell more about the FEC500. I am in the market for a big cooker like that. Is it on a trailer?
