Smoking with fig?

OK, I have access to a very large fig tree. I know we say anything with fruit or nuts, but I have not seen anything about using fig.

Any inputs?

You should be able to use it - but do a small test burn and see how it smells - maybe do a couple pieces of chicken for a test - chicken picks up flavor quickly and will let you know if something's nasty in a hurry.

I dunno - fig, persimmon, avocado - I'm sticking with the old faithfuls
