Hey all,

I'm looking for some appetizers that can be done on a smoker. What's the favorites out there???

Thanks!

Use the site-specific Google search box near the bottom of the page. You'll find plenty of ideas!

Moinks are awesome! I've seen a bunch of bacon wrapped apples slices recently as well.

i love cheese stuffed smoked meatballs...a lot of people do moinks (meatballs wrapped in bacon)

anything that involved stuffed jalapenos (cheese/bacon/chorizo/etc) are always a favorite at my house too.

one thing that i do often is take standard smoked fare and use it in mini ap size things. try smoking some sausage, slicing it, and putting a small piece on a large toothpick with a bit of green apple. dip it in some spicy mustard

or pull some smoked beef and make mini tacos, nachos, etc.

Why is it that when a question is asked there is dang near every time someone who says 'look it up' as if opinions regarding best appetizers yesterday will be the same opinions expressed today? (Sorry - My bad - Rant over) Moinks R great but my favorites are ABTs, smoked bacon wrapped jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and dusted with rub, and tamales smoked for 1 hr at 200 degrees then steamed over beer and squirted with lime juice.

Jalapeno poppers used to be my go to app....until I found out about pigshots.

Sausage cut into 1/4" coins, forming the base of a bacon "cup"...and then filled with anything you want!

WOW!!! You guys are AWESOME! thanks for all the suggestions. Please keep them coming. This is just what I needed to get started.

Recently... moink balls hands down.
Stuffed jalapenos, kicked up potato skins, and mini bbq nacho boats are always crowd pleasers too.

I came up with this crab Rangoon dip awhile back. I used baked wontons for the chips. It was awesome. Wonton chip, scoop of dip, and then a small spoonful of panda express chili sauce.

Can of crab meat drained and rinsed
8 Oz cream cheese
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
Dash Worchestershire
2 green onion, chopped
1. Tbs powdered sugar
Dash garlic powder
Pinch of salt and pepper

Top with a bit of shredded mozzarella. Bake at 400 until browned, and bubbly.

Wontons

375. Cut into triangles. Bake oiled and salted for 7 minutes on a cookie sheet. They get super crisp.

Smoked potato skins, bacon wrapped tator tots smoked with cheese melted over the top, honey-mustard marinated chicken bites wrapped in bacon, pork burnt ends, hot sauce marinated smoked peanuts, smoked pumpkin seeds, scotch eggs, smoked pork or beef shredded then mixed with light sauce and cheese stuffed into a biscuit or wonton wrapper and baked or fried.

OK I know alot of folks aint into chicken livers...And I understand that...
But this is by far the most requested app I have ever served...

Cut chicken livers into bite sized pieces and soak in milk for an hour or two...Butter milk would be better maybe...Wrap each piece in a third slice of bacon and skewer with a t-pick...Smoke till the bacon is done...Liver just melts in your mouth...Folks love it...

Hmm...this one is just weird enough that I might give it a try. I have a bunch of friends here in Cali who fancy themselves foie gras snobs. They might not believe that this came from that other bird.

THANKS! :thumb:

I just made bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese, they were very good . I am going to stuff with Blu Cheese next time:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Just tried the bacon wrapped Granny Smith apples this weekend -- really good. ABTs are always good though recently we've just been putting cream cheese in peppers (jalapeño and sweet) and its pretty good too and really easy
