• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I have a fridge I want to turn into a Smokehouse for jerky and sausage. Any one done this before? Any tips or helpful info would be appreciated.

I thought about cutting a hole on one side near the bottom for air intake, cutting a hole through the freezer section and top for the exhaust, and using a hotplate and bowl for smoke chips..... Will this work?

I've seen it done on older freezers, that weren't full of plastic. You may want to take a look at yours depending on the age and see if it's even worth gutting.

It's important, as Jorge said, to take a look at the guts of the fridge. You don't want to create chemical fumes from the plastic.....

Thanks for the link. It helped out a lot. I will now put the heat/smoke generation unit outside.

I thought about the plastic crap inside. With the heat/smoke generation going on outside the unit I don't think the temps will be getting hot enough for that to matter.
