• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I am a newbe to the forum and have not posted before. I have heard that Smoked Wild Turkey breast is fantastic, if anyone has any info on Smoking Wild Turkey breast… The help would be greatly appreciated. My experience at smoking any meats is… None!
Thanks Hank

I have done several breasts but not a wild one. Probably a slight difference but not for sure.

I did a wild one, had a patient give it to me one morning. Stuck it in a brine for an hour or two, then wrapped with bacon and onto the smoker, came out very good. Scott

Do an overnight brine with the flavorings/seasonings of your choice. Rinse well before smoking. Go real easy on the smoke!

Email me a couple slices for a "sammich."

I smoked a whole wild turkey for a friend once. He told me that it was good, but I thought it was nasty. It had no skin and I had a hell of a time getting it to stand correctly on the smoker. I brined it and draped bacon over the breasts. Post some pictures of yours when your done.

here's a 10 pound free range turkey breast...
something like 250-275 for 4:20 with cherry smoke.

not sure how it compares to the wild one.

That is gorgoeus bird, but a wild turkey is a whole different beast.

Well thanks for the replies... guess I am just going to have to go at it "cold turkey" (sorry, had to). The (wild) turkey breast I have must be 10 lbs. Sounds like slow and low is a suggestion... for the free range bird anyway. Won't be doing it in the next week or so but I will see if I can take pic's and give a report.

Thank again...
