• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I just finished dinner. I grilled two sirloins with a modified rub. I used my regular beef rub and added ground clove and ground coffee beans. It was really good. Served it with roasted roots and field green salad. I stole the idea from Steve R. of the BBQ Bible books. He had something similar in the rub and sauce book called Bon Fire Rub. It finally got chilly here, 34 degrees and sleet at grill time, 27 with the wind chill. Supposed to be 31 for a low. Not too bad for south Texas. My wife made lemon iced Scottish short breads for dessert. One bottle of Gnarley Head Old Vine Zin, and one of Toasted Head Meritage. Nice dinner.8-)

Sounds great Zilla! Something about grilling and BBQ'in in inclement weather that make it so much better!!

sounds like a nice dinner, Zilla. That rub sounds good. I do a similar thing with Instant Espresso powder in the rub[the only thing I ever use instant coffee for.] The Old Vine Zin sounds special too.

What is roasted roots?

Quartered new potatoes, carrots, parsnips, turnips, onions, chopped garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper. Toss with oils add S&P and roast at 350 till roots are done. HMMMMMM! You will be a hero! Any combo of the above can be used.

Kick that oven temp up to 400-425, make sure you anoint with evoo, sprinke a little rosemary [fresh is best, but dried will do]. Roast till veggies are caramelized---you will be as superhero.

Sweet potatoes, and any winter squash, like butternut[my favorite] can be added also.
