• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Local supermarket has wild salmon filets for $2.99 so I bought one.
I've got some wild rice and was hoping some one had a good recipe for using it as a side.

I dont think this is what your looking for, cuz this is too simple, and you have wild rice and probably want to do a pilaf of somesort, but with rice, I will do the recipe someone else here posted originally:

1/2 cup rice
1 cup water
1/2 cup salsa

boil water, add salsa, then rice, 20 minutes and you got a perked up rice. There are sooooo many types of salsa (and heat differences) that you can make a rice for any meal depending on what Salsa you use.

Mark. I make some fantastic pineapple rice, but that may be a little strong to go with the fish. Probably better for ribs or something with some sauce on it. Other than that I have never really used any wild rice and am interested in what pops up here.

Have you tried recipesource.com? They never fail me.

If you wanted to add salsa to the rice...the Newman's pineapple salsa is very good, in my opinion,...me I always love a rice pilaf and fried apsaragas with a little kosher salt and fresh gound pepper and fresh lemon juice as sides to my salmon.... BUT fried asparagas with Southern Flavor might be interesting.

I was at a pretty fanc restaurant a few years ago and had swordfish. Side dish was hashbrowns. I thought that it was pretty odd for a fancy joint to serve hashbrowns, but they went pretty well with it. They served the shredded type, cooked in a 9 inch skillet and allowed to cook together so it all flopped out on the plate in one piece.

Wild rice goes very well with salmon. I usually slightly saute the rice mix with butter and then add the liquid -- the nutty flavor of the wild rice works!

After the rice perks up take the pan and throw the POOPIE in the trash. The perfect rice dish. Sorry I had to pop in and not let anyone down.

I cook orzo pasta with olive oil and garlic and salt and pepper to go with salmon. Has an earthy taste, and the textures and colors complement one another. Served with the best boxwine I can find.
