Well seeing how i didnt get to make it to McKinney saturday with the dallas/ftworth guys i made all my buddies sunday goto shady oak bbq near his house.. it was a nice resturant cool atmosphere. but the bbq was average. got the ribs and brisket combo, with beans and potato salad. ribs were ok, not alot of flavor, same with the brisket, beans were a little overloaded with spice. couldnt pinpoint what it was though.
Today i decided i wanted to try a place here in wichita falls, so i tried Texas Best BBQ, needless to say that was false advertisement. Ribs were from yesterday, instead of slices of brisket i got a mound of brisket, even though he asked me if i wanted sliced, It was edible but by far not one of my favorite places.
Branding Iron in WF is crap to.. i miss livin in central texas , where coopers was only a 2 hour drive , and Lonestar BBQ in brady was just 45 min . both of those are dang good..
Will be cookin some chicken halves today for work tonight and tomorrow. atleast ill enjoy those. Just needed to rant. i hate wasting good money on bad bbq.
