• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I'm sure this has been discussed before. Why the heck can't this be standardized arrgghhhhh

I was shopping for pork butt/shoulder to grind for sausage

I have found bone in pork picnic roast on sale (99c/lb) at SaveALot. Is this cut a part of the butt, not even remotely close to the butt/shoulder?

It looks like it will make fine sausage but I'm viewing ads online so I can't even see how large they are.

Its just below the butt. Practically the same for what you are using it for

practically.... But watch the lean to fat %.... You may need added fat, back fat or belly....

The pork shoulder is made up of the picnic and the butt

It will be fine for sausage, but the yield is less than a Boston butt cut due to the larger percentage of bone......As mentioned, depending on what you are making, may have to add some fat.
