Here's Today's non Q lunch, A fancy Sardine Sandwich.

It has sardines.
Zest from lemon.
Parsley.
Goat cheese.
Black ground pepper.
and a baget bread.

Are the sardines ground or chopped up? I have to admit that I am not a fan of sardines.

I've actually chopped up them with a fork. That's what Alton browns recipe said to do, His told me to use table salt & sea salt, I left those out.

When I was a kid I would enjoy the fillets on bread with ketsup and mayo, believe it or not....But Derek, it looks like you chewed on those fishies before you put them on the bread?......

We get fresh sardines here off the docks in Moss Landing and grill them with a bit of olive oil and lemon over an open pit in the backyard. I'll have to try making a tasty looking sandwich like that with them next time. It's a bummer that the only sardine off-seasonmonths are April and May so I'm going to have to wait!

Mmm, I got a craving to make some of my Grandad's Sardine Pate'! Have you ever tried the sardines in the mater sauce, Derek? Would add a little something to the sammy.
Looks good to me!

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look at sardines again.

When I was a kid, my dad would take us to the "Chicken Inn" in Puerto Rico (where I grew up). They had his favorite (and mine at the time): Sardine Pizza. It was delicious!
