I have never done this before, and I HATE that I'm doing it now. It seems like it should be against some Brethren code, or something. I need some BBQ. I can't smoke this weekend, I day with a heavy heart.
I was scheduled to have surgery next Wednesday, the 6th. I found someone willing to cut me open and take a hammer and chisel to break the bone buildup around my left hip, to help me get closer to walking again. Pre-Op check out showed that I have developed diabetes. That sucks, but confident it's reversible. Initial tests showed my kidneys weren't working well. Retest showed they were improving, so figured I was just dehydrated. Surgery was still a go. Yesterday, I met with the anesthesiologist and did more tests. My sodium levels were so low they discussed sending me to the E.R. Now, surgery is off. Kidney specialist next week, but I have to be read the to go straight to the hospital. And...NO SUNLIGHT. So...no BBQ. Crap. We have people coming over to see our house we moved into last July, but just finished making it wheelchair accessible. I don't want to serve crappy Q from a restaurant.
So, if any Brethren is firing up their smoker this weekend and had room on their grate, I would be willing to buy some Q from you. Please. Brisket, pulled pork -(oror non-pulled), ribs.just about anything. Please. This might be my last party. I'm not scared, because I trust God completely. I also understand, when my time to go home, nothing is going to stop Him from calling me home. Everyone wants to go to heaven, but Movistar wants to go right now, as they say. Well, it's true. I do want to go, but not this weekend, please, God.
I will pay for meat, supplies, time, plus your time. I just want some good BBQ.
Please reply here, PM me, or call my cellphone 309.229.9369. We are on the West side...near Hey 90 and Marbach, 1604 and Ray Ellison...
Please consider helping. Please.
Thank you,
Dan
P.S. our "party" is all day, stating at 2, going on until?? The Brethren are invited. BYOB and anything else you want or need...or bring nothing. Your presence is enough.
God bless the Brethren and the U.S.A.
