Helped load up and send off the Bandera this morning. Has a good home with my stepdad. He'll be shaded by pecan trees in East TX, and have plenty to burn. There is now a few 5'x6" pecan logs on the portch in it's place.

I am now smokless. I can use the Weber grill, but it won't be the same. Now the shopping will begin. I about have the wife convinced to let me get a Klose. If not, at least a 1/4" heavy duty smoker.

What part of east Texas is he in? I have been thinking about moving there because of the much lower cost of houses? Does he like it there?

They're outside of Tyler, TX. About 1 mile to Lake Palestine. Pecan orchard turned into home lots. 3 or 5 acre lots. Mom is on a 5 acre lot with about 60 pecan trees. Had a builder build to sheetrock, and they did everything else. Flooring, cabinets, fixtures and paint. Saved a load.

Stepdad cooked a brisket Sunday, and everyone told him it was the best he every cooked. 8)
