Sage Fatty prices

Is there something going on with JD Sage fatties that I don't know about? Day before yesterday I saw them on sale for $1.48/# (not the 12oz.). Yesterday they were $.98/#.

Only the sage fatties though. Am I missing something? I just smoked two and have seven more in the freezer.

What prices are you getting in your area?

I would get as many of those as you could. That is an excellent price. I have not checked around here.

Check the use/freeze by date. They get cheaper the closer to the date. I've bought and froze the day before that date without issues.

I have to special order them here - no one carries them. Gonna call tomorrow and get half a dozen or so. Never had them, but I loe sage, so I bet they are awesome. Gonna be tough to beat the maple ones though. Just did 5 of them this evening for our weekend camping trip. OK OK - I did 6...and ate one tonight. The other five will be for Saturday breakfast scrambled up with eggs and some sweet vidalias.

I am having a more difficult time finding the pounders. Seems like a lot of stores are going to the 12oz. ones. Like Solidkick, cheapest I can find is Wally World 2/$5. New ads in todays paper, will have to check for fatties on sale.

I think that was the issue with the sage fatties Mista referred to. I bought a few and froze them immediately - they were just a couple or so weeks from expiry.
