OK guys. I'm breaking in my new gas grill's IR burner/rotisserie setup today.

I usually allow 1.25 to 2 hours for an indirectly cooked chicken (like beer can) -- how long for a rotisserie chicken using the IR burner??

I'm planning on using just the IR after getting the chamber heated up and putting a foild pan underneath the chicken to catch the fat -- hey, it's a new grill and I don't need chicken grease all over the burners

Inquiring minds want to know!! :D

Those twin pack chickens ya get at costco... are like 6lbs. We did 6 of them at B2 last year on the DCS. Thats when they modified the handle on the Spit.....:)

They go for 45 mins to an hour..... They cook real fast in front of those IR burners.

AND SPRAY OFTEN!!!!!! Put a foil pan with some beer in it under the birrds. I also keep the bottom grill burners on very low keep the liquid in the pan hot and steaming. Helps humidify. dont know if its necessary, but I always do it.
