• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Rocky selling on Craigslist

I guess it would be bad taste to post how to make your own UDS on craigs list.

Need a Pacific Northwest distributor? I work for beer!

Rocky is a good guy. Met him years ago. Hope he sells lots of those. Especially after he donated to have some sent overseas to the troops.

There is a guy here in LA selling plans to build a drum smoker on Craigs list for $23! Chit, that is half of what I sold my drum for! LOL

I hope Rocky sells a lot of them before some ash-hole flags it for commercial sales. He really has a good product going and is passionate about them. I wish I could check out his forum.

Well for $425 you get access, basic drum, shipping.

I live 20 minutes from that area and the house prices are going through the roof. Wait a minute, just saw you are from California so it may be a bargain housing wise. How good are these uds smokers?

Man do a search for Ugly Drum Smoker, grab a case of beer and read. Gonna take you awhile. Seems to become a favorite to those that make them. Here is a few quotes from my favorit pellethead who built one for fun and get rid of:

It does amaze me! Maybe its because I built it, but these little bad boys really work!

Well it is 3:15, the drum has stayed at between 230-245*, 5 hours and maybe half the chacoal burned! Maybe! I dont even care about how long it could burn on 5#'s anymore! Fugetaboutit! I want to see if it can grill a tri-tip. I have opened all the 3/4 inch nipples and opened up the ball valve, want to see how high I can get the temps now! Just put a small tri-tip on, maybe 1 1/2 lbs, well have some photos when it is done. I am sure this will ruffel a few feathers, but why would you ever buy a WSM when you could have one of these babies for 1/4 the price!

Folks, these thinks work, make no mistake about that! I could see putting 10#'s of charcoal in this thing and it cooking within a 15* range for 16 hours easy! And there is nothing I can think of in the competition BBQ world that should take more than 16 hours!

I was cooking on another Comp team last year that used the BDS's and let me tell you, those things are good. We would get an easy 12-14 hours out of 12 lbs of charcoal and 3 chunks of wood... Did pretty well as well... So simple in concept it is hard to believe.

Got any cheap "demo's"...

Not me, Original BDS website prices. All mine are hillbilly knockoffs with Breathren inspired upgrades. Oh by the way, Grand Prize Award winner in the Miller Welds backyard building competition. (Beltley mod)
