It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Not sure if this is the right place so the mods may move it

I picked up the good Dr's. new book road trip today had on hell of a time finding it but I persevered :-P he goes into a lot of detail about each area, I especially like his comments pertaining to Texas BBQ and David Klose.

anybody that is on the fence about getting this book I would suggest that you go ahead and get it or ask for it you will not be sad I think it's he best one yet :-D

Thanks for the nice words Dustaway.

It's frustrating but it just isn't getting to the stores like it should be and there's nothing I can do about it.

www.hawgeyesbbq.com has it and may even have some autographed copies left.

Amazon is always an option and hopefully if it sells when the stores actually have it they'll start carrying more copies.

I'm in the same boat. I enjoyed the Texas and NC sections since I've lived in both areas and was familiar with many of the places he visited. I enjoyed the read a lot! I didn't always agree, but I also didn't know if he hit a good or a bad day... Much more often than not I thought he was right on.....Although I'll maintain that the Dell millionaires have ruined Docs favorite place in Taylor, until the day I die:razz: 8-)

Is there a Georgia section?

Sort of. Doc talks about the National BBQ News-Douglas Ga. and he highlights Jack's Old South in Vienna.

A couple of pages on Ga. and a couple on Fla BBQ. Doc did hit my personal favorite in Fla--Blackwater BBQ in Orlando, But he missed my Ga favorite, The Georgia Pig in Brunswick.

This is not critical in any way. Road Trip is a terrific book. Much better than any of the recent "Road Trip" books done by Celebs or newbie Q'uers.
I enjoyed comparing his take to the places I know, and to the comments about the places he visited compared to the ones in "Smokestack Lightening"

A good book, a good read, and some real good recipes too. I served a bunch of people the Caramel Apple Crunch for dessert last night and almost had a riot-everybody wanting seconds.
(page 87, from Sheri Gray(Sheri and Ray-Pellet Envy). Thanks for the recipe Sheri, and thanks Doc for sharing it.

And thanks for the book. I too think it is your best yet, and look forward to your next effort.

I meant to say in my other post: I got my copy at Barnes and Noble in Orlando. Borders did not have it.

Thanks again guys. I quickly realized that it was going to be impossible to go everywhere and finish the book in my lifetime so I did what I could in a certain period of time and when I had enough for a book it was over. No offense meant to any joint or region.

I've already got a good list of places that folks are suggesting to me. If this book sells well and there is an opportunity to write a sequal I gladly will include a whole nother group of subjects. They're out there.

I just started Doc's "Road Trip" book and am enjoying a great deal. What I like about this book along with "Texas Legends" and "Peace, Love & BBQ" are the stories. That along with outlining some of the regional twists has help me in my Qing a great deal.

It gives us an opportunity to develop our own styles by fusing flavors and tastes from different parts of the country.

Doc's book gives us a "taste" of some of the great places without an opinion on what is right and wrong.

Great book and I hope there is a time for a sequel.

yea I went to one Borders I hate them and three Barnes & Nobles before I found a copy :-P

with the gas prices I should of just ordered the damn thing from hawgeyes along with some other stuff oh well

B&N and Borders will both order a book if you request it. It might be more hassle than using Amazon, but it can be done. It's worth the read.

They're both supposed to have it but............
It really ticks me off!

Got mine at B&N in Columbus Ohio. Haven't read it all yet but what I have is really enjoyable.

Thanks for another great book Brother Ray!:-D

You should see all the Post It's sticking out of the top of your others!! :lol:Things I want to try!

I requested it before it came out at the B&N near work and bought the copy as soon as they got it in. There are now three copies on the shelf!:-P :-P

This is probably my favorite of the Doc's books. I like the combo of bbq reporting and recipes together. It's a great way to illustrate regional differences (and similarities) with the recipes to taste test.

It's a real winner. Nice job, Doc.

Good strategy and I do appreciate it. I don't mind if you guys move it to the end cap either.

It's a fun read, it just end's far too quickly.

I'm still a sucker for the first book (Big Time BBQ).
