• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

RIP Phubar

Dang. So sad to hear this! Herbert was one of a kind... what a great guy!
I cherish my Lowland Smokers t-shirt and the recipes Herbert's mom sent to me. Both he and his mom taught me a lot.
Rest in peace Phubie.. you will be missed big time!

Has anyone heard about services, or more precisely, any charity memorials?
There will be a memorial service for Herbert on Thursday April 3rd and he will be laid to rest on April 4th. As far as we are aware of there are no charity memorials. We've asked the family about a live stream for the memorial service and will let you know if something like this will be in place.

Thank you for the information, Hugo.

I offer my condolences to his family. I never met the man or even replied to one of his posts, but that did not mean I never did read any of them. I read a lot of his posts. His classic Phriday threads were always something I looked forward to and read. Somebody needs to keep that tradition going!

Thank you for updating us Hugo. Do you by chance have a link to an obituary or anything?

Such Sad New and a big loss to the Brethren.
I will miss his Friday Post asking:

"Happy Phriday Pharkers, what's Smoking this Weekend?".

We never met face to face but had a good laugh when we discovered that we lived a few minutes away from each other in the Netherlands.

RIP.

Had the Honor of meeting Phu a couple times at Greg’s during our annual barbecue bashes here in SoCal. Great times were always had and Phu added so much fun, joy and great food to our gatherings! Sending prayers to all his family and friends that they would be comforted by our heavenly father as they morn the loss of Phubar.

Wow! He was a young healthy looking guy. Never knew him, but knew of him and know he was well loved by all that met him. And I loved his Phriday threads. That was/is a staple here. Glad to see it continuing by other Brethren! RIP Herbert (never knew you real name until now), wish I could have known you.

Just seeing this now, and am shocked and deeply saddened. Phu was such a great contributor to this forum, and The Missus and I were blessed to finally meet him and Padawan at the microbash at our place back in 2016, when Greg(gtr) brought them over and Sako(ssv3) also joined us.

His enthusiasm for life and food was infectious, and he was a truly good soul. He will be missed greatly, and his family and loved ones will be in our thoughts and prayers.
