• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Finally settled in enough to do a stick burner cook. We wrap them in crack sauce. They are better reheated.

Trim the rack down, oil slather and season. I do a bbq rub and top it with a coarse salt and pepper mix.

Time to mix up the crack sauce.

Melt some butter, add brown sugar and honey. Now cut that with a good bbq sauce. Then add hot sauce to taste. W i s k it up g o o d.

When the ribs looks right..... aka the color is set wrap in the glaze. About 2 hrs.

I like the small foil rolls for ribs. Sandwich method. Lay down foil, crack, ribs meat down, foil. Tighten up and go low for half hour, no more than an hour. Remove, let cool for 15 . Remove top foil, flip ribs bones side down and return to cooker on top of foil in juice until tender.

Served with coleslaw.

Heres the deal though

The next day I reheated at 350 and they were even better. In the same way as pot roast or spaghetti is i suppose.

I do basically the same thing. I have found that a lot of the initial rub gets washed off when the ribs are soaking meat side down for awhile. I add a slight bit more rub when I turn them meat side up and then set the "crack" sauce.

Great looking ribs btw...

I don't care if ribs are foiled or not - I'm eating them! I like 'em many ways - foiled or not, sauced or dry - there's room for all of 'em in my stomach. These look/sound fantastic and I really like the sound of that crack sauce (and I'm really glad it has nothing to do with a long drive on cheap upholstery...). I've been getting full spares really cheap on special lately so I'll have to give this a go. Thanks man!

And reheated BBQ - yup - sometimes it seems to be a little better than the day of the cook.

Nice work on these, they look tasty!

I threw some honey and brown sugar into some bbq sauce last night and did some wings...the little guy loved it!

Any particular amounts of butter, brown sugar, honey and hot sauce or just eyeball it?

Its all really to taste brother. A pat of butter, a scoop of sugar, a dollop of honey mixed with enough bbq sauce and then a douse of your house hot sauce.

You can whip up your crack anyway you see fit. :thumb:
