• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

In preparation for today's cold smoke I lit a hot fire (450* CC temperature) to cook out the grease. Could not help but notice it was blowing chunks out of the chimney...any guess as to the cause?

Creosote buildup in the chimney from slow colder fires I would suspect. Your big hot fire is breaking it loose. This is not a bad thing.

Been wondering...when you have a wood burner in your home you need to clean the chimney every now and then....suppose it would not be a bad idea to clean the chimney on my smoker? I have my old 4" brush for cleaning out the pellet exhaust on our Quadrafire...
