• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Nice pics! looks like it was a good time. I thought your smoke ring looked good. It must have tasted too smokey??

You might have stated in another post what wood you used. so.....what wood did you use? Was it green, or cured? If it was mesquite, I'm not sure you CA folk would care as much for that as you would a milder wood. Mesquite is pretty harse, in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of it anyway.........my .02 worth.......

Maybe try some apple, cherry or peach next time.

kick, we used BBQ's Galore's hardwood lump, with hickory chunks. I think it was a combination of the mixed hardwood lump and just too much hickory, and the fact that we got tired and let it go all night instead of pulling it off when we originally planed too.

I used to use mesquite all the time, but now reserve it for grilling steaks or chiken, too harsh for low and slow.

Used hickory on todays loin's, with kingsford as the main heat source, no problem.
