• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Red Weber Kettle

It seems like this past summer I must have seen at least 6 red and a couple blue kettles on craigslist for next to nothing. I even saw a yellow Homer Simpson for $20. I posted a thread on the VB site and turns out it's a collectors item. I'm not a Weber guy myself but another on the VB site drove at least 2 hours to buy it and posted pics of his rainbow of kettles! He is one happy camper! See if you can find one on CL!

I have the small red weber and it does look cool. I have never seen the Homer one, will have to check ebay.

The VB site has some pics and E-bay links for the Homer (starting bid $437) in the charcoal grill section.

I miss my original red weber kettle. Weber says the current black and blue models they sell are the same design, but I swear the red kettle cooked better.

Think you could powdercoat a Weber Kettle? Any food safety issues? Someone with a powder coating operation could make some money selling custom designed kettles.

I've seen custom painted WSMs in the past - but never a kettle. I'm sure it can be done.

I saw a custom painted kettle at Raytown this year. It was pink and a young girl used it for the Kids Q. I believe it belonged to Bare Bones BBQ.
