• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I guess just bumping the thread isn't working.

Not everyone on here has the ability or desire to post pictures of their cooks. This got to be a big problem a while back and we had to take action.

Nothing has changed! No Pic, never happened is still not acceptable and those posts will be deleted.

I've never given anyone grief for not posting pics (that I recall, I sure hope not!). HOWEVER, I do occasionally read about an upcoming cook in a "how do you recommend cooking this?" thread, and reply with a recipe and a polite "I'd love to see pics if you can" query. Is this gentle enough and inbounds, so long as I'm clear that it's just a hopeful request, and not a hostile demand?

The "other" bbq site I go to occasionally has alot of folks that are hung up on pictures. Only threads I hope to see pictures in are of peoples bbq builds....

I would love to post more pics but it is a pain to upload to another site and then copy and paste urls. I have tons of pictures but when I go to post I just get lazy because the process is not fun.

I find taking pics on my phone and using photbucket phone app then posting from phone to be easier than the 'puter.

Agreed. I like pix and post pix once in a while. But it is a PITA.

I am on another forum where to post a picture I can just use copy and paste. Very nice. This costs the forum some disk space but disks are cheap and it is easy to resize huge pix that might be uploaded. It would be nice to be able to paste pix here.

Might not be a requirement to post a pic but let's face it, you can visualize a cook etc... a whole lot easier with a picture, just sayin

Do you know what forum software they use? that may be something we can look into.

As far as disk space bing cheap, it may be fore a home computer, but RAID arrays that are used at the server level are not that cheap, and guess who is paying for it? The subscribers help, but most of it is on Phil.

I don't disagree, but as you can see from the posts above, not everyone wants to do that, so why force it on them?

This was me

Sorry, I did not know this was an issue and did not intend to offend.

Off to the PB for me!

Not just you. Three times in the past day, and an increasing number over the past couple of months. No one looks at the stickies, so folks missed Phil's post.

I'm on a sports forum that broke off from a larger sports forum a couple years ago. New forum is set up on Forumotion. Very easy to upload pics directly from your computer. But, Forumotion would probably be unsuitable for a forum this size.

Have been on another sports forum over 10 years. It started using vBulletin software but the owner moved it to XenForo 4-5 years ago citing security issues with vB. XenForo was created by the same guys that originally created vBulletin. The transition went seamlessly and none of the old data was lost. Can't upload pics directly yet, but images can be copied and pasted.
