• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Ray aka DrBBQ new book

I got an email from Amazon early this morning and ordered a copy.

Ordered - thanks for the tip!

Here's something to ponder, though: How can "overstock.com" be selling it when it's not even released yet? :eusa_clap

easy..its a pre-order ..it even says so..just like Amazon's..i always get my books through them if its under 25 bucks since the shipping is a whole lot cheaper than amazon as well as the book price..
plus they have Bill Me Later which i like better than dumping it on a credit card

I just got the last book, am I stuck in some kind of late reading time warp?

kind of..the last book came out last spring (05)

Is it coming out earlier than expected? He told me a few months ago it was not coming out until May 07.

Hi all,
May 2nd is the actual publication date which means it should be on the shelf in all the stores by then so the promotion can begin. It has been printed and is probably shipping around already. I've had the first copy at home since last week. I bet Amazon and the others will ship it any day.
I'm In Little Rock at the Arkansas Literary Festival and will be signing copies tomorrow at lunch in the River Market East Pavillion. So I know they have some.
Anybody here from Little Rock?
BTW, if I was them I'd change my name to Big Rock. Or maybe Big Rocks.

Hey Doc. You think you'll be back home doing a book signing any time? That way I can put it next to the copy I got at Grills.

Our part of town's gettin to be pretty warm. Today it hit the 90's with just enough of a slight rain this evening to make things really humid and crappy out.

Doc - what's different about this book?

The new book is called
Barbecue All Year Long". we looked at everybody elses books and realized that a lot of second books looked just like the first books and we didn't want that.
So the original idea was a barbecue lifestyle book, but it evolved to a series of reasons to barbecue, with a full menu for each. I've mixed the barbecue and grilling all together here, but I really don't think most folks are bothered by that. There's the whole story and the recipe for the brisket that took the money away from Myron and a pork butt recipe that includes a red slaw recipe from Dr. Death. But there's also many grilling recipes along with many sides and desserts. Some grilled and some not.
I think we accomplished exactly what we wanted because this book is different than the first, but luckily I still had a bunch of bullshit stories left about my barbecue life and you might even see some folks you know in the pictures.
Thanks for asking.

I'll be home for three days this week, but then I'm gone again. I'll be back at the end of June and will do something at All About Grills for sure. I think we scheduled July 14th.
