• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Has anyone added flexible alum duct to divert the chimney smoke? I`m sure this must have been discused somewhere?

I have a overhang on my roof on my back deck and would like to keep the Bandera under it during rain. just wondering if it works OK or not?

Though my freezer still has a little bit of ribs, brisket and a bunch of smoked filet minion steaks left, I`m getting a hankering to fire up the smoker!

Though I`ve been in other parts of cyberspace for the last several month, I hope all is well here.

You can add a flanged roof chimmey to the Bandera and the add your flex duct and bend it to keep rain out.

Keep an eye out for a cheap dining canopy. I got one at a locl sporting goods store for $10. If it's just a light drizzle I recently took a 1 gallon tomatoe can and used snips on it to vent the sides. Smoke went out, and no rain went down the chimney.

I`ve got some experiance smoking under a old Hieneken umbrella. Works OK, but What I want to do is duct the smoke out from a overhang. I`m thinking a 6-8" flex, maybe 4' long, routed on a angle and tie wired to my gutters. Then a vented cover over it. The top of the Bandera chimney is about 2½' below the gutter.

Like I said, go to HD and get a flanged roof vent, it will sit on the top of the Beast's smoke stack and reduce the opening down to a nice 4 inch circle. Then you can easily connect your flex pipe and the vented cover. And then tie to you gutter.

Who was it that had their Bandera in the garage - vented out through the wall?

Anybody remember that?

I'm gonna need to try that coffe can trick for when it rains, thanks Jorge.

I smell what`ch your cookin` Al, is there any change in the 'fire management' using the duct (i.e. less flow)? Are temps in the smoker harder or easier to maintain or maybe a poorer quality smoke (black/white)?
