• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was prowling Ebay the other day and spotted this, made by these people sitting there. Since I bookmarked and forgot about it there's been no bids and , even though I want to build a smoker I'm still tempted should I ever wish to do a large chargrill. It's only problem as you can see, it that it's missing it's grills but I can't see this being an insurmountable problem to be honest as I could knock some up out of mesh and 1" angle no sweat. Added to all of this is the very attractive price of only (at the moment) £19.99 or about $32.
Should I go for it and risk the wrath of Mrs Browser?

If I tell her that you all said yes I can share the blame then!:-D

You need to get the grill man, no two ways about it. You will be the envy of all your friends. Every smoker needs a good grill by its side. Here's you chance - don't blow it. By the way, what the heck is a Braais??

It's a Sarth Effrikan term my friend, I believe it means the same as BBQ or grill in Afrikaans. On this particular on there's supposed to be a little crane arm thingy which you san suspend a Potjie pot. This is another traditional South African food prep method, using a cast iron, well, cauldron for want of a better word, in which one manufactures stews and the like.
OK just Googled Braai, heres what Wikipedia have to say 8-)

Raise your hand if you ever been told "you can't get anything else" from the significant other?

Browser...buy it!

For $32 I'd be all over it! It's hard to tell form the pictures, but are the grates there?

No, it does say they're missing, but I can buy either some expanded or round wire stainless mesh and make some no problem. Only problem is the sellers south-west of London, 113 miles from my house, and in the UK that's considered a bit of a trek! Still, no pain, no gain eh?:-D

A hundred miles and $32, what ya waitin for???

Browser, for $32 I'd be on that like a duck on a june bug.

The price looks reasonable to me. What's to lose? Whip her out a nice dinner when you get it finished. She'll get used to the idea........

Nope, got outbid! Mind you, probably not a bad thing as our bank account's as empty as a politicians promise this month. Ah well, another one'll turn up and, if not, I'll just have to do what I was plannign to do anyway and build one out of the stainless sheet I've got lying about:-D
