Quick competition question - entry fees

It's been a few years since we have competed, but I received an email today for an event this spring. Seems like entry fees have gone up a bit. Not a complaint, simply an observation... What's the going rate these days to get your foot in the door for a reasonable sized spot plus electricity for the standard 4 meats competition?

The exact average price for the first four contests we are doing this year is $312.50, with an average prize pool of $18,750.

$250 range, sometime a bit cheaper sometimes a bit more but I would say $250 hits it purty close around here

To me, the question is entry fee compared to payout. $250 for a $5,000 payout just doesn't seem worth it to me...that's my $0.02

If you hit the early entry dates around here, you're closer to 250-275. Normal is closer to $300ish. Some are closer to $400, but they have a pretty substantial payout.

$200-400, add more if you do PC or other add ons.

$250-$300 and around $25 for additional comps like desert ect...

250-300, but some like Bear's in Hartford required an astonishing $600+ (part is a refundable security deposit)

I did 26 contests last year and my bill came to $5125.00, only bought electricity in about half of them though.
